I mostly dragged them to bunch together then used compress atmosphere. That way you damage several at a time. Ice Lance can be pretty effective, too. If you have a really high Perception, as you should to be a really effective mage, you gain back the mana from a level 6 Compress Atmosphere in 5 or ...

I'm playing a straight mage no armor no weapons , what is the best spell to use . It takes me over 100 points to kill the miners in the mine !

blast it ! 1 little tip about this place when you first walk in the 1st level don't step on the plate as you come through the door or you won't be able to leave , walk around it so if you need to leave to sell off extra gear or get a few things you can leave and return...

Well I've just started my 9th time through,last time ended up with 52,000 gold ! Can't wait till Book 2 !! Maybe now I'll try destroyer ending! Still seems to be the best game I've played in years !!

I'm on my eighth time through and my best time doing all quests is around 12 hrs. Once you know where things are you can fly! Oh I definitly save and reload to get the best items from chests , barrels, and dropped sacks !! It would be wrong to open a chest to find a dead fish! instead of a mithral ...

Now thats the way to treat a customer !! If more people ran their companies this way there wouldn't be as many problems out here!!

Check out the "workaround" section of this forum. I couldn't find the last key through a bug, and they showed me away to clone one of the keys. Its simple and it got me through the game the first time.

Try to improve alchemy to 9 then find 2 plus 3 alchemy rings. Then you can buff armor and weapons to +3. Extoplasm+mercury = +3 to hit,extoplasm +spiderweb = +3 armor,extoplasm+serpent venom=+3 damage.
