Re: Character hacking...how important is it?
After playing through the game normally for the first play through, I like to give my character unlimited gold on the second play through. I do this in all the rpgs I play, and it makes the game fun for me to buy all the goodies in the shops that I want and go through the game without worrying about...

Re: Any update on sales, possible expansion or Book III?
Great news, can't wait for new content for book 2. Hope there is enough interest in terms of sales to generate a book 3.

Re: Eschalon: Book II Reviews!
yea, this guy obviously didn't like the game. Oh well, its just an opinion. I expect this game does have limited appeal, but I think it is a great game. And they (meaning the big name rpg developers) should bring this style of rpg back to the people, its long overdue. We have enough 3d rpgs with pre...

Looking for a good walkthrough
Do you think someone is going to do a general guide for this game? I know there is one going on right now but it is based on a certain class, wizard, and I am looking for more of a general walkthrough/guide. One that tells you about skills, trainers, answers on how to complete quests, hidden places ...

Re: Eschalon Book II v1.02 +11 Trainer
Well, a few reasons. Maybe later if I think the gold is too skimpy ( I have heard this) in the game then I might want to get gold so I can buy the strong magic items. Personally I think in rpgs the player should be given plenty of gold so they can afford the cool magic items, it makes the game fun. ...

Re: lycantrop in Everdale (spoiler maybe XD)
I just did that part so here are the directions to him.
Quick travel to Everdale. Go west on the road. Continue west through Wolfenwood. You then come to Western Kessian Basin, continue west, eventually the road forks, take the south fork, and you will find his camp at the road sign.

Re: Spelling and grammar
There are a ton of spelling errors. It is too bad, because sure, I can ignore them the first few times, but when they keep popping up constantly then it does tend to leave a bad impression. I think it is a great game, but I don't see why a simple spell checker wasn't used to check the text, it would...

Re: Finding Book II harder then book I
I was in the same boat, playing a fighter/paladin and always running out of food when resting and having to rest tons because I was always taking a beating, because the game is difficult (which I applaud!). I'd suggest starting a new game and dropping the food and water requirement. I did and the ga...

Can lanterns be refilled?
I bought a lantern and its a good upgrade from the torch, brighter light and over a wider area, but it ran out of oil. Can it be replenished and if so how? I tried repairing it but that doesn't work. If it's useless after running out of oil then its a spendy item for only being a one time use and no...

Thanks for the info. It sounds like pick locks is the better way to go for what I have in mind.

Dexterity, opening chests, and skills
I am one of those who can't stand to leave a treasure chest unopened. Bashing doesn't seem to be a good solution so far, so I am left with learning pick locks or a spell I read about on the forum - "melt lock". If I go the pick locks route, what is the relationship dexterity has on the ski...
