I saw that on the RPGCodex, very interesting.
I am suspicious of how many pirate downloaders actually go and pay money for a game they already stole. I bet there are some, but I bet there is a large number that dont.

No real problem with speed here (at least for the demo). The game slows down sometimes, but it usually doesn't last more than 15-20 seconds. After, it's back to normal for 5 minutes or so.
