Re: Random thoughts from non-hardcore player (some spoilers)
Odd, I would swear I read somewhere on this forum that there would be multiple characters in EBII. Maybe buried somewhere in the discussion of the new game? Oh well, maybe I just wanted it to have that feature and decided to believe it.

Random thoughts from non-hardcore player (some spoilers)
One of my main criteria for evaluating a CRPG is whether it can be enjoyed by a bad player. I am not good at these games, at all, and I'd rather have an interesting character than min-max, so if a game is really demanding I will probably not like it. I love Avernum 4 and 5 for the atmosphere and the...

Re: Re-download?
Hi, thanks. I'm on a Mac, so I suppose your advice about Add/Remove programs doesn't apply. Would a corrupt saved game cause a crash before I had even tried to restore it? The game wouldn't even go to the title screen. At this stage I need the new link anyway, because I deleted all the associated fi...

Re-download?
I emailed Basilisk with this question twice, but no response so far. I ran into an issue where the game wouldn't start after the initial preferences screen, it would just go to a black screen forever. I read a suggestion somewhere on the support forum about deleting and re-downloading. But, the down...

Re: Character design strategy
Thanks everybody. My latest character has pretty diverse skills -- swords and light armor along with alchemy, mercantile, lockpicking, and cartography -- and he seems to be working out. Two followup questions: 1) What would be incredibly dumb to do? That is, are there hopeless characters, and what m...

Character design strategy
Hello all, I just started playing Eschalon after reading about it like 50 times on the Avernum forums. I'm used to playing with a party of four characters in Avernum, and I'm unsure of how to approach character design in this solo adventure. Is it better to specialize? I'm usually inclined to make t...

Save button broken after purchase of full game
I paid up today and was glad to see that the new full version automatically found my saved games. I messed around with my current game a little bit and once again decided my character was too weak. So I started a new game, my first new game with the full version. I went through the character buildin...

Re: Early Game -- Amulet Quest -- Lever? (spoilers)
If I were any dumber, I couldn't type this. I never noticed that door in the corner before! I found it and from there it was just surviving those mummy-thingies. Thanks!

Re: Early Game -- Amulet Quest -- Lever? (spoilers)
Sorry to be so dense. Let me make sure I'm in the right room to find the key. There's a barrel outside full of blood. The first room has tables like a cafeteria as you said, and then beyond that there's a smaller room with a cabinet and a locked door? I've been in that room before, and taken everyth...

Re: Early Game -- Amulet Quest -- Lever? (spoilers)
Did you ask the young man working on his alchemical formula there in the crypt? You must have missed going to the office to get the security key. Hi, thanks. I did talk to that guy, and I believe we had a discussion about me having permission to enter the crypt, which ended with him giving me the k...

Early Game -- Amulet Quest -- Lever? (spoilers)
Hello all, after two false starts I have a build I can live with and I'm trying to find "my" amulet in the Eversleep crypt. I fought the two Noximanders, and have passed by a bunch of coffins, and come to a door I can't open. I found a walkthru that says there's a lever to open this door. ...
