Baldur's Gate is such a widely praised classic RPG that I would love to love it.
Guess the problem is that I don't like the Infinity Engine because it isn't turn-based. The battles aren't all that strategically interesting as a result, so darn it all. My problem with an otherwise fun game.....

Thanks for the update BW. It's nice to know that you are still working on the game.
Re: Filcher

Re: Geneforge 1 - Mutagen (Spiderweb Software)
but by level 10 or so you have become a demigod, unable to suffer any defeat (which tends to make it boring. To be honest, I haven't really finished a lot of Spiderweb games, for this particular reason). Well, here is an idea. Download Geneforge V and set the difficulty to Torment. Please let us kn...

Re: Bug? Charma will not respond to quest.
It is worth talking to Charma to get her special weapon. It is my "go to" for getting out of Fathamurk, which would be awfully difficult otherwise.

Re: Minimalist Character?
I think this is a really fun concept though, and I wonder how feasible it is in Eschalon. I had a character who had so many points in Endurance that getting crushed by a portcullis in Fathamurk didn't kill him (though the game registered him as 'in a wall,' so he couldn't move and I had to restart ...

Re: Divination Expert
Well Vroqren, you have totally earned my respect as a gamer. Man, how did you ever get through the games relying mainly on Divination? You inspired me to try the same thing, but I gave up at the Southern Gate in Book I because it was just so darned painful. My spells only had about a 50% success rat...

What about Grimoire?
Several years ago there was an Australian doing a kickstarter for a big RPG that nobody had ever heard of. We all pretty much figured it was vaporware. It seems the guy was for real, and the game is available on Steam. It's called Grimoire, and apparently is quite an old-school experience. Has anyon...

It's wonderful to know the game is still "under development." Am selfishly hoping some day is sooner rather than later.

Re: Spiderweb Software's Queen's Wish: The Conqueror
Queen's Wish is out now. It's quite different from previous Spiderweb games.
So far it has been a fun experience - the usual great writing with new (er, old?) mechanics.

This is great news BW. I was starting to lose faith that there would be any more games from you
Can only say that the news the project is still an RPG is particularly exciting.

Re: Divination Expert
Have been thinking about playing through the series with your intriguing character. So, quick question is "Did you ever wield a weapon, use Unarmed Combat or use Elemental Magic?" The first guess is that you were totally pure, but it would be nice to know

Re: Divination Expert
You know, that is an awesome challenge you took on! I too got homesick for Eschalon this winter and did a complete play-through of all three games, only my character was a ranger. The Divination expert sounds like a wonderful idea!
