Re: Some questions from yet another new player

Thanks. I'll pick up that ring when I come across it (usually in stores, unfortunately). I had, in my previous character, pumped up Endurance to 32 (!) at the start of the game, and on my latest guy I have it at 20. Honestly, I don't notice a difference. I also pumped speed and concentration since ...

Re: Disabling statistics and challenges

Well I figured the rules can only be changed at the start, or else it would be extremely broken. Challenges just reek of achievements, but I guess since you can disable them... It's just that, once a game starts going down the achievement route, it becomes less about the game and more about the ...

Re: Some questions from yet another new player

I've got a couple more q's. I started yet another new character, played a bit and found it an interesting change (I was using hide in shadows as a main skill, and killing enemies creatively - such as using portcullis', explosives, and other enemies). I also pumped dodge, and was surprised when it ...

Disabling statistics and challenges

Question

Will you be able to disable this screen: http://www.basiliskgames.com/images/eb2_screen2.png
possibly at the start of the game during this screen: http://www.basiliskgames.com/images/eb2_screen1.png

Achievements are lame, not to mention immersion breaking, IMO. Now I know some people ...

Re: Reasons why it's worth to be a PC gamer!

The biggest upset this year, for me, was the closing of Ensemble. Although Age 3 wasn't a true continuation of the franchise, I was highly optimistic for Age 4. The MS Flight team was a huge blow to the whole community, though. Damn you Microsoft!

That list is basically an exhaustive list of what ...

Re: Discussion: possible alternatives to the saved game

Before I make a suggestion I am going to say that if anything besides the current system were to be implemented, it would require the player to choose "Regular" or "Iron Man" mode when creating their character. That's only fair.

Some games, which I cannot remember off the top of my head, have ...

Re: Some questions from yet another new player

I see what you're getting at. A bit of my post was my own personal bias against the speed stat, since it is so broad. I still think that dexterity better governs what's going on here, but that's just me. Have you thought about having weapons draw from three or four stats instead of just two, giving ...

Re: Some questions from yet another new player

While obviously not being mutually exclusive, speed does not equal inertia. Speed is how fast something is moving; inertia is a law that states that unless an outside force acts upon an object, it will retain it's direction and velocity, which includes being at rest. Anyways, it is kind of jarring ...

Some questions from yet another new player

Hello, I enjoyed the demo and bought the game a few days ago. I have a few questions on some skills because my ranger - currently at level 5 - is not doing so hot and I was thinking of starting over with someone different.

Dodge - I read some posts around here today and it seems the general ...
