Re: Game locks up after I try to blow up Keg in Spider cave!
I had it happen to me a couple of times, but it seems inconsistent so far. Both times were in the starter dungeon beneath the well in the first town.

Dragonel nest
Just how tough is this thing? I've spent 4 days in-game camping out, firing off fire darts into it for 7-8pts a dart, and the only thing I have to show for it is a lack of food supplies from eating all of them. Only the use of a spell keeps me in water for now. Another day or two and I'll probably ...

In no order, since the top one changes with my mood.

Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant
Ultima 6: The False Prophet
Might and Magic 3: Isles of Terra
Wizardry 8

Re: Might & Magic LE
My wife keeps telling me to get rid of my boxes of boxes. I keep giving her the number for a divorce lawyer. 8)
Better watch it, she might take off with all your boxes!
Sadly, I threw away all my old boxes. The follies of youth. Still have the games, but no boxes. Technically, I don't ...

Re: Might & Magic LE
I still have most of my stuff. Some just disappears through the years though.
MM2 was my favorite back in the days of DOS, though my computer back then lacked the memory to run MM3. I loved all of them though, up to 7.
Dang it, now I want to boot up MM2 again. Maybe give 1 another try, since I ...

Re: 7DRL Challenge 2010: March 6th to March 14th
Hmmm. Not sure I could get the coding done in 7 days with what time I have. I do have a partial design floating around though, for a simplistic RPG more like Phantasie than DnD3.x mixed with Wizardry 8.

Re: Sim City
SimCity 4 is just the up-to-date version of the original Sim City, which as BW said is a fun sandbox where you build a modern city from the ground up. I've spent hours upon hours with the original (three versions, the C64, later DOS, and now Windows versions!) and SimCity 2000. Never played any past ...

Re: How "Old School" is "Old School"?
IMO, sex in games is so badly done that it can't help but be immature and a failure. Same for romance options. The problem is is that it's always tacked on last minute stuff, and gets only a small amount of polish compared to say the combat system.

Re: How "Old School" is "Old School"?
Old school to me, means a certain character about the game that simply is lacking in today's games. It extends to other genres than RPG's as well. It's less about the age or graphics, or even style of game, than certain things which are hard to describe, and very few can seem to get. I liked ...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
After playing awhile, I'm still hooked. The combat can be annoying, especially due to the poor AI. But, 20 hours in I'm still enjoying it just as much as when I first went through the origins.
There is a memory leak, I believe. The longer I play, the slower and slower it gets, until I get an out ...

Forget Gandalf! I want to be a wannabe Ridcully! I would say Rincewind, but he lost his staff.Kreador Freeaxe wrote:The one thing for wizards I'm still hoping for is a proper wizard's staff. Not as of now. As soon as BW get a pre-order screen setup, I'm going to buy it then.
