Re: Dungeon building

It's very problematic, and it hurts indie devs like us the most. I'm not sure what we're going to do, just to "wait and see" for now. I'm hopeful that they will revise their policy, or maybe get bought by a bigger parent company that can manage the software better. Long term, if nothing ch...

Are you going to make the game atmospheric, kinda like Shadowgate? I mean, I will buy it regardless, but...
Completely different game here, but yes, we are working to keep it very atmospheric based on the subject.

Re: Dungeon building

I've been making some good progress on the new RPG. #BasilisksNextGame Unity or Godot? Back to Unity. Godot has a lot of potential, but I just can't get behind their use of a proprietary scripting language, and their C# support just feels like a neglected child. I worked for several weeks at gettin...

Re: Dungeon building

A dungeon crawler in the style of Legend of Grimrock and Vaporum? Yes! God i hope not personally. Thought those games were so overhyped and the puzzles were far more annoying than fun imo. but if it IS ill still play it LOL  :D So, Eschalon was a grid-based RPG. This is too, but in first perso...

Re: Basilisk Games Update for 2023?

I love you guys! I am so sorry for being quiet. I wish I could say there are great things coming real soon, but I just don't have a clear picture yet. So if you want the more detailed explanation: About a year ago I mentioned moving to Godot , which is a game engine that is lean, powerful and open s...

Re: Happy New Year!

Thanks to all, especially to the handful of members who still stop by regularly. It may seem weird, but we did sell nearly 500 copies of Book II & III in 2021, so there are new players still steadily coming in and checking the forums for solutions. Thank you and welcome! I am emailed regularly a...

Love to all! Have a great Thanksgiving!

I still get emails frequently from all over the world asking about the next project. I'll try to provide an update at the end of the year.

Re: Multi-annual update!!!

Good to hear from ya, Bernie! I want in on the game action if you're going to start throwing steam codes around! Things are the same around here. I make a bit of progress on the next game, just a little bit at a time, and then I get some outside dev work and spend 2-3 weeks doing that because it pay...

SpottedShroom wrote: March 14th, 2021, 2:00 pm As I said, I'd be willing to work on getting the code working on the latest BlitzMax.

I would hope that if we could get it to build, the benefit would be to let fans keep the games alive - release builds for recent OSes, port Book 1/2 to the Book 3 engine, support mods, etc.
Sending you a PM.

Re: Book 1 expansion?

When I get back, I will devote a full day to seeing if I could get Eschalon compiled again. Just wanted to follow up on this. So, with the latest version of BlitzMax, there are a number of [expected] compiler errors that initially were no problem fixing, mostly having to do with changing variable d...

Ogbebaba wrote: March 2nd, 2021, 11:59 pm Anyone figure out how to get it to run on a windows 10 laptop yet?
It runs fine on both of my Windows 10 laptops. Most likely it's a corrupt .cfg file. Delete everything inside of:

Code: Select all

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Basilisk Games\Book 3 Saved Games\
And then restart the game.
