Re: The mines of the dwarfs.

Anyways - now they gave me 2 quests : 1. find some mage at some tower (if it's the place near the bug quest, it's a problem to forward once you in. (many levers) 2. Go and kill the bull people - seems to me like it's the last quest and I should do the Farrock caves quest first - but I'm only level ...

Re: The mines of the dwarfs.

I am a mage so I have no shields, I only need to get the invisability spell which is hard to find. Or a potion... Oh, if you're a mage then you have way more options. Like casting the "air bubble" spell (the one that protects you from missiles) and nuke your way out. Or just find a corner...

Re: The mines of the dwarfs.

I did as you said but the path north leads to Broken gate and Ravens Grave which are already marked on the map. Still can't find the caves. Just go north from the cabin where you found the dead brother of that girl in the first town (Eastwillow). That's the easiest route. And, anyway, I thought tha...

Re: The mines of the dwarfs.

Just don't do as that movie said and this time actually Go into the light.

EDIT: And the travel point for the main big city is in a small square in the middle. Look for a black obelisk.

Re: Which Book II ad works best?

BTW, why not mention "old school" in the ad? Or maybe "classic"? Most of us bought it or gave the demo a chance based on that premise. And it's definitely a plus point for the type of players you look for. As I see it, the Eschalons are niche games, so target them (us). We're qui...

Re: Why not some some area's keep the enemies coming?

So... with every few levels gained you need to clear the entire [explored] world yet again? No, not that fast. In those games the creatures only respawned once or twice maximum. Each game (at least the first two) is divided in Chapters, up to about three or so, and the respawn happened when you rea...

Re: Which Book II ad works best?

#3 indeed

Funny how #1 had more clicks when everyone (myself included) seems to love #2 more. I guess that DnD homage mob is what makes them click, but it's the worst design wise IMO (that beast needs more space around! everything feels too packed!).

Re: Why not some some area's keep the enemies coming?

I don't recall any respawning dragonels in Book II? They only respawn near their nest, until you destroy it. And, to add my opinion to all this, I think the way the game handles spawning is excellent. It adds to the realism and reminds me a bit that of the Gothic series, with the plus that here you...

Re: Why not some some area's keep the enemies coming?

Enemies don't respawn once killed, but you can always simply rest on any non secure area and your camp will be attacked eventually.

So, camping is the only way to spawn mobs dynamically.

Re: Suggestions for less clicking in Book 2

Also, there's other places where streamlining how the UI works would be nice, such as: - Being able to scroll with the mouse wheel the alchemy recipes, or at least being able to drag the rectangle up and down. - Being able to equip or unequip an item by double clicking it (with autoplacement as long...

Re: Tooltips

Rereading my post I think it might sound a bit demanding or whiny, which wasn't my intention. So, please, let me expand a bit on this to correct myself. There's a lot of moments when having that information displayed in-game would be more than welcomed (when purchasing stat/skill boosting gear, deci...

Tooltips

I always wondered why you can't see tooltips in your character window describing each skill, attribute and the like. Either to remind you what was that skill about, which combat feat a particular weapon type has, what's the synergy between particular skills and attributes, etc. Why is that informati...

Re: stone golem

That stone golem is quite impressive to watch (huge stone guy with huge menacing hammer) and it's definitely a hard nut to crack. But I finally managed to kill it with a lvl16 rogue. All would have been better if that damn thing didn't heal itself. Fortunately it only doesn't do that in close combat...

Re: "The Secret of Fathamurk" FAQ

Thanks for the FAQ.
I'm replaying Book II now with a rogue and just hit lvl16, so it's time to try this new area.

BTW, can you sticky this post, please? It was on the second page when I posted this and this information is quite important. It better not get buried again.

Re: Buy on Steam or direct? Does it matter?

The Steam version has just been patched to 1.04. Now let's hope we don't end in the same situation with 1.05. BTW, BasiliskWrangler, is there any chance that you'll offer both a normal game key and a Steam one for your next games? There's other independent game studios that also offer that possibili...
