I gather the secret is to put it on easy and not play with item degradation and eating/drinking. New char without those is much easier, like it should be...

All the actual save slots are still there. Once I exit the game and re-enter I can save in the slot again, but I lose the save info or it becomes unreadable to the game. Not a big issue since I save often in different slots but annoying.

Something I've noticed.

I dunno. I'm a complete hoarder and pick up and sell everything i can. Maybe I should have concentrated on money making skills more at the beginning instead of combat skills but what's the fun in that if you are a gimped build.... More money in the game would be nice or more ways of making it. Or more opening quests at the beginning to get your skills under way. I've only gotten to the Port so far so maybe it gets easier later?
