So, back to the main topic: I don't believe I ever found any books or trainers to teach Lore, Unarmed Combat, Short Bladed Weapons, Shields, Dodge, or Meditation. Did anyone else?

Yup, just right-click on the skill in the list on the left. Works for me, anyway!

When you walk into the Ossuary entry chamber, some descriptive text appears. In it, "viscously" should be "viciously." Also, when speaking of the underground repository, Lilith says, "These people all share two things;". That semicolon ought to be a colon. EDIT: This is...

Perhaps, in windowed mode, they could also add Command-M for minimize and Command-H for Hide. I haven't done any serious programming on a Mac, so I'm not positive, but I imagine this would be accomplished simply by adding the aforementioned options to the application menu. But yes, those three sugge...

I know what you mean, Randomizer. The Eschalon application, particularly in windowed mode, doesn't seem to support standard functions like command-tab, close window, hide (if I remember correctly), minimize, and quit. I would really appreciate that last ability in particular, rather than having to g...

Sounds to me like three resolution choices would be optimal: 800x600 for legacy machines / small monitors / windowed play 1024x768 for larger 4:3 monitors 1440x900 for widescreen The greater resolutions could work for windowed play as well, depending on your screen's real estate. Increasing the amou...

These guys are BOTH serving an under-served community of hardcore RPG gamers looking for excellent experiences heavy on gameplay ... and both are delivering excellent results. The games are cheap - heck, you can buy *both* Av5 and EschBk1 for less than a single 'next gen' console game. This seems l...

Actually, as I understand it, spiders don't usually index pages with ? in the URL. So that's not likely to work. I think I'd agree with trying to work out a cross-advertising deal with Spiderweb. Something like, "Finished with Book I? Can't wait for Book II? Try Avernum 5 to tide you over!"...

Personally, although I understand it's supposed to be fairly realistic, I wish bashing things were a little easier. Having to hit a barrel 100+ times, and perhaps rest a couple days' worth just to see its contents... well, it gets old fast. You basically either have to be a rogue or a mage if you wa...

Re: slow movement

Please add a run button/option, and make it only available until a hostile creature spots you. I got a good buddy of mine excited about the game, but he called me today and said he probably wouldn't buy it, although he likes it, if only for one reason: he's frustrated that the character moves too s...

In the book A History of Thaermore , at the top of page 3, it says, "...and has a counsel of twelve advisors, known as The Grand Scholars, serve with him." "Counsel" should be "council." Also, possibly, " who serve with him." The current grammar might technica...

Ha! Don't put such an evil thought into their heads. Some of us haven't made that particular transition yet. ;)

I'm guessing this will be released as a Universal Binary?

Gotcha! That's completely understandable. I thought maybe you'd at least put out Book II for PPC as well, in which case the investment might be more worthwhile. Oh well; it was worth a shot. ^_^

In any case, looking forward to the impending release! Thanks for all your hard work, guys.

Oh yeah, can somebody send me an old PowerPC Mac? The one here in the studio seems to be dead! Apple.com doesn't appear to even sell PPC models any more. Hmm, I guess I need to check craigslist and ebay... What're you looking to pay? :P I've got a 17" 2.0 GHz G5 iMac w/ 2GB RAM which I w...
