Re: Greatest Adventure Games

I really like 'The Dig'. It's one of the Lucas Arts' adventures and is really atmospheric.

On the 8 bits, the pick was 'Time Tunnel' on the C64.

Re: what tools/languages were used to build the eschalon gam

Steve,

One word of warning, a bit late now I know, the manual leaves a little to be desired. My suggestion to you is to read it through a couple of times, bar maybe all the modules documentation, then start playing with some examples. Be sure to post questions on BlitzMax.com, we are very helpful ...

Re: Help a skint archer out

Thanks, Painted Lady. I shall be reporting JL to the Jedi Council for unscrupulous use of Jedi mind tricks. Drawn to the dark side of the force is he.

Re: what tools/languages were used to build the eschalon gam

Ah yes, Leadwerks looks to be shaping up very nicely... but all this talk of 3D engines... is there possibly a true 3D title in Basilisk games' future?

It would be marvelous if BlitzMax could natively work with C++ libraries without all the headache of wrapping the C++ code first. I totally agree ...

Re: what tools/languages were used to build the eschalon gam

However, if I had to do it over again, I'd go with C++. BlitzMax is very powerful and easy to learn for the most part, but C++ is universal. It's what everyone uses. Most of the best tools and engines are written in C++.
I don't understand your logic. I use C for my full time job, and I have used ...

Re: Help a skint archer out

Thanks again folks. Well I bit the bullet and restarted after playing the game for a whole day, and I'm glad I did. It was a lot easier with a more specialised character on the archery front. Amazing how tough it got if I didn't use most of my points on archery.

I'm glad to say, I have completed ...

It's a shame my foreign language skills are lacking. I love this reviewer's style!

Help a skint archer out

Hi, I have built my character to be a strong archer, however the amount of money I'm making from each mission is barely if at all covering the cost in arrows. I would expect to be a little flush after completing each mission, but it's getting to the point where I have to fall back to a sword ...
