When will there be a patched demo?

The contents of the stump at the beginning depends on your class, as follows:

Fighter - Short Sword
Rogue - 3 Picks
Magick User - Scroll of Fire Dart
Healer - Scroll of Fleshboil
Ranger - Birch Short Bow and 40 Arrows

Also, spells and bashing. Fire Dart is just hideously powerful.

Also, poison is temporary. If you just hold down the space bar, you'll lose somewhere between 10-20 hit points total before your body finally throws it off naturally. Unless you're almost dead already, 1 healing potion should get you through it.

I just did some further tests on this. Even with the lowest possible starting strength of 7, a character with 5 in Unarmed Combat can damage the heavy-oak-and-steel door. It might take a few swings for each point of damage you do, but you can do it.

Unfortunately, that doesn't solve the problem. You can just keep resting to get effectively unlimited HP and MP. That's why I can use Fire Dart to mow down anything in my way as well.

However contrary to another post I could not do any damage at all on the reinforced door upstairs in the inn probably because I am not strong enough so for me that part of the process is just fine.

Well, let me put it this way: if it's not unbalanced for a 1st-level character to be able to break down almost anything without risk, why have weapons and picks break? What purpose does that serve, if not to put the brakes on players who want to simply smash their way through ...
