Funny. I can't Alt-Tab out of the game at all, or rather the game quits when I try to return to it.

I could create a small program using this same code and generate 10,000 simulated hits at 50% and we can see how many hits and misses there are, if that would be of interest to you. However, in the THOUSANDS of hours I have played the game, I have never felt the percentage rolls where flawed. Since...

So just save one key for 'rarely used spells' then you don't have to re-bind it afterwards? That would require me to surrender one of my permanently bound spells. Sounds like replacing one problem with another to me. Would it really be that hard to have a "Cast" button in the Spell Journa...

I want the ability to cast spells directly from the journal rather than binding them to a key. I've got all keys bound already and there are some spells I rarely use and binding them first and then restoring the original binding is a PITA.

Ah, a kindred mind. I'm not that far in my progression yet, but I've already noticed the same. I planned on bringing this up once I got through the game and have my suspicions confirmed. For example by your numbers you only need to hit 2 targets at once for fireball to be more effective than fire da...

Well, that's just my point. The percentage changes, but that mostly just means you need more attempts. Even locks where I have a nominal chance of 19% for success open relatively easy for me, and I haven't broken so many picks that money would be an issue. I believe Greylock is proving my point. So ...

I think the percentage chance of success can be problematic with some skills, especially Pick Lock. I mean, I only have a skill of 3 thanks to some magic gloves and still I can pick most locks with little trouble. If I need six attempts that isn't really a problem. I know a single door that I find p...

Short-Bladed Weapons were designed to allow Magic Users & Rogues to have a lightweight weapon available to them, since Strength was not going to be their first priority. (...) They are great when you are trying to limit the weight in your caster's hands but still need a weapon. I see what you m...

Aww man, just when I started to love my overpowered Haste! Oh well, installing anyway. I'm just surprised that I haven't heard of anybody else noticing it. Well, it won't stop me from playing, so back to playing.! Actually, it is mentioned in the Typos thread. PS. By the way - I don't know why movin...

Questions about Book II

I had a question and so I thought I'd make a thread on the subject.

So here's mine:

Will I be able to import my character from Book I into Book II?

Per wrote:According to the manual this is correct. The limitation is 1/3 of your strength in pounds, so 17/3 = 5.666... which seems to be rounded down to 5. So you probably need 20 strength to be able to carry 6 pounds in your hands when casting spells.
Hmm... 1/3 of 18 is 6... so why 20?

In the magick guild in Blackwater you're told that the guild isn't accepting new members "do to the ongoing conflict" - should be due, obviously.

That is like the opposite of logic.

More varied starting gear depending not only on class but axoim, maybe origin. For instance, a healer starts with Fleshboil. Not that's cool for a nafarious healer, but wouldn't it make more sense for any other healer to start with an actual healing spell? Seriously. I chose to play a healer and wha...

Shouldn't a nefarious healer be something like Witchdoctor... that would keep the Warlock free for all the fireball hurling. A witch doctor isn't nefarious but something like a shaman. Which by the way would be a more fitting title for a druidic magic user than Conjuror, while Conjuror might be mor...
