Re: Youtube

@Gene:
That's awesome. I didn't realize your LP was your first ever playthrough of the game, but it makes more sense now. The first time I ever beat Book II, it took over a year of ingame days. Makes you wonder why the Taurax hadn't moved into Mistfell yet. They're not that big of a threat just ...

Re: Youtube

84-part? How long was each video? That's seams a bit extensive...
The LP itself started when YouTube only allowed ten minute uploads; later in the series I increased video length to fifteen minutes and near the very end I had longer videos than that.

Admittedly, the LP was one of my first and was ...

Re: Yup, Another Kickstarter - Shadowrun Returns

Oooooh my!

I'm pretty sure I've put more into Kickstarter in the past three months than I put into triple-A titles in all of last year. So glad to see these companies getting a chance to make the games they want to make.

Doubly glad that the games getting made are ones that I'll enjoy! :D

Re: Legend / 4 Crystals of Trazere

Played the heck out of the game when I was younger. Never could finish it though; mostly due to the time limit that kinda sneaks up on you.
I wasn't aware there was any kind of time limit, I hope thats not going to cause me a problem :(
From what I recall, the time limit was more than fair. The ...

I remember really digging the mutability of the magic system. The bard songs were good too!

There was actually a 'sequel' of sorts. It's more or less the same ...

Re: The stuff that should have been in Skryim...

Some of that stuff I wouldn't have a problem paying for as DLC (new weapon types or skill trees) so long as it was reasonably priced (like a couple bucks).

Other things, like the truly dark dungeons and extinguishable light sources, I think should be in the base game.

Overall, I wonder if all of ...

Re: Amalur

Just checked the demo out earlier today on Steam. I had fun with it, despite the demo supposedly being crazy buggy (I only saw one and it was a shader issue that didn't affect gameplay at all). Like llew silverhand, I don't think I'll be picking it up until the price has dropped, though.

Re: The Best 10 RPGs of all time!

Fathamurk was just added for the sake of difficulty? Fathamurk was about the Orakur.

I had no idea that was the case. Was it ever mentioned that it dealt with the Orakur in any of the previews or anything? I only ever got the vibe that it was a dungeon added for people who had really tough ...

Re: The Best 10 RPGs of all time!

When did you last play Book2? Cause there has been some added stuff put in lately, a new, really tough dungeon and stuff in the formerly empty zoo area, etc.
I finished my playthrough a few months after the Fathamurk update was released. Never really did anything pertaining to the mega-dungeon as ...

Re: The Best 10 RPGs of all time!

Depending on qualifiers my list of favorite RPGs tends to vary a good bit.

Counting games I've actually completed and only on the PC it'd probably look like so:
1. Lands of Lore
--- Westwood at its best; this is one of few games I try to play through every year. I love pretty much everything ...

Just Finished It

Just finished Book II for the first time and I must say that it has been many, many years since I've enjoyed a role-playing game this much (probably since the days of the Baldur's Gate games). While the game was definitely rough in spots, it was a blast to tough it out and think of clever ways to ...
