Along those lines, it's difficult to accept balance suggestions from players who have hex-edited their character. How can we balance something that you purposely broke? ;)
I just used a hex editor to skip the clicking-on-dice minigame. I actually gave myself a set of stats much less than what ...

I find the only useful discussion on balance for SP cRPG's like this is if one of two related things is happening: 1)If I play my preferred role, the game is so easy it's not fun OR 2)If I play my preferred role, the game is too hard, so it is, again, not fun. This is assuming, of course, that one ...

Hence my points re: balancing up skills - some skills at the moment are too expensive for what they give, others are too cheap. In particular, rogue skills need to be cheaper, magic skills more expensive. If this is done, then you have a real choice rather than a choice that gimps your character ...

I want no truck with a game based on class 'archetypes'. As I've said before, back in the day you had rpgs that were class based and rpgs that were skill based. These days things are blurred as the most popular rpg, D&D has been moving to a skills model from a classes starting point. However, the ...

Most of you are being extremely myopic here. The answer to this question has nothing to do with "well here's how I built my guy to do X, but this other guy can do X!" Each of those posts is a special case and if BR addressed those complaints in a vacuum, he would possibly (but not likely) fix it ...

Re: Character Balancing
There's a lot of talk about balancing going on, but the problem is I hear it from both sides: "Melee characters are overpowered!" "Casters are overpowered!" "The game is too hard!" "The game was too easy!"...

That link made no sense and looks like it a collaboration of Steve Jobs, linux elitists, and people who think coders should work for free.alpha wrote:may be a bit off-topic but still worth mentioning: www.badvista.org

Re: Abusing game weakness to make lots of gold (cheating)
Hi,
I want to share something I figured out.
Probably most of you know that you get random loot from barrels, containers, lootbags etc.
quicksave before opening one, if you dont like the items then reload and open it again. repeat that until you are happy with the loot you obtained.
