Re: The most noticeable difference ?

The way that feats wear down weapons totally changes things up. One strategy I used a lot in Book II with my Ranger was to B-line to the feat, and then use it to take an enemy out at distance, and retreat until it cooled down. This had the nice advantage of letting me have a healthy supply of arrows ...

Re: The Clams are watching???? (spoilers)

This explains why the off duty dwarf miner followed me into the woods near Rockhammer and tried to kill me. He was not easy for my level 2 Ranger!

Re: Your First Character Playing Book III?

I'm going to play a bow focused Ranger for sure, with stealth skills. My favorite Eschalon experiences involve being low on ammo, pinned down, and forced to think creatively while waiting for my feats to cool down :)

Re: iPhone RPGS

The Quest was great - thank you for the rec! I've also started playing Silversword and it is excellent - really the best touch game I've played. Basically, it is the Bard's Tale. Party of 7, rolled stats, magic users are by far the most powerful, no hand holding or quest markers, magic mouths, etc ...

Well done!

Great game - just completed it two nights ago!

To all who were in any way involved in the game - congrats on a job well done. Can't wait for the third one!

Skills Ceilings

Hello everyone!

Been enjoying my first run through of Eschalon tremendously. I feel like I may have actually built a decentish 1st character.

I went all in on Bows for awhile and I've gotten my skill up to 33 (only recently started branching out. I think I'm level 11 or 12 now.) At any rate, I ...

I'm totally bumping this. Also interested, BadYeti, on how you did that. I'd love to have that bookshelf in my laptop.

Re: Wasteland 2 Kickstarter

This is getting more impressive by the moment! I can't believe anyone ever thought that the market for TB RPGs was ever done. Clearly there is a demand. Silly game production studios.

While you're donating to Wasteland 2 - and if you have a spare couple of ...

Re: Diablo 3 review

Yeah, I'd say if you had to play one of Skyrim or Diablo 3, you should go with Skyrim. For all of it's faults and quirks (I play it on a PS3) I think it is quite a good game and anything that logs you out for being idle and is only playable online, even in single player mode is... Questionable ...

Mac release becoming more and more likely...

I real hope this is further indication of TB RPGs coming back into style. Thanks for the link, time to donate!

Re: Amalur

Also worth noting, is that RA Salvatore didn't write the game itself - he created the mythology, but the dialogue and story are all someone else's work.

YES. TB is making a comeback!

I hope they get enough in this kickstarter campaign for a Mac release...
