Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
There seems to be a fair bit of debate about EA's DLC policy with Dragon Age. Some people aren't very happy about paying $5 for an hour of game at most. And the latest DLC announced looks like it's going to be both shorter than Warden's Keep (which I understand some people can complete in under an ...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
I do not know the PC numbers. But it seems to be selling well. I would not wait six months for the price to drop given the dearth of single player CRPGs coming out these days. In the past when more were produced you could wait on a title. But, now if a publisher does not see a return on the investm...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
That's why I like Stardock's Impulse much better... they have a much less invasive form of DRM, and half the games don't even use it (none of their own games use it, you just log into your account and you can download/install the game... no need to be logged in to play the game). I'm actually think...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
-Wait 6 months for the price to drop? =O -And explain how Steam is a ripoff merchant please? Thats right; the prices start dropping after six months. Seen it myself a million times, both online, overseas and in games stores. Sorry it doesn't work out that way in your neck of the woods. By waiting, ...

I can wait it out. From the sounds of the combat demo it will test the brain as well, which is like music to my ears.

Re: What was the first RPG you ever played?
The first RPG I ever played was The Bards Tale. Now I have to admit that it bored me to tears, and I probably would never have ended up here ordering Eschalon if, a few days later, I hadn't stumbled upon Ultima 4. This game totally changed my mind and hooked me on RPG's. I found the Bards Tale games...

Re: RPGs that influenced me the most...
I really loved Ultimas 4-6 and the Worlds of Ultima games. Number 5 was probably my favourite of the series. I could never get enough Gold Box ADnD games. Never. This includes the Buck Rogers series. The Magic Candle games were brilliant. I enjoyed the Questron clones, aka Questron, Questron 2, Lega...

Re: old school Sci-Fi RPG?
I still have 'Mars Saga' laying about here somewhere. Time to fire up the C64 again.
Fairly certain it was ported to PC eventually, and the name was Mines of Titan. I think that was it anyway, its been a long time.
Anyway, looking forward to this new game engine of yours.

There were basically three variants of First person RPG's back then: a) The walking blob party with turn based battles ala Bards Tale, Wizardry, Dragon Wars, etc b)The walking blob party game with real time combat ala Dungeon Master, EOB, StoneKeep, etc. c)The party travels in first person, but when...

Aren't you able to switch to something more lightweight to cast spell? Aren't you able to completely remove the bulky stuff before spellcasting? And as for carrying stuff, have you ever considered raising your strength a bit? 1)Yes, but because we are talking about an Archer, that defeats the purpo...
