You need to use shift and left mouse click to "attack" chests. Unarmed combat for one level also works without needing to use up weapons. Although bashing and cleaving weapons seem to last longer.

Since it comes as a dmg you should be able to install multiple copies even though this will use up more hard disk space. Edit - The problem might be that the installed game creates only one folder with saved games in My Documents. When another player uses the application it tries to access the saved...

Actually I didn't find the demo part that hard as long as you don't stand there and let monsters come up and pound on you until you die. When you start to lose health or spell energy as a mage you need to retreat to recharge. It's boring, but it beats reloading.

*grumble* the problem with ordering early. I got mine a few days ago. Still I doubt I'll change operating systems.

Nice idea to place all the operating system versions on one CD-ROM.

Mechantile changes the price value 2% per point.

Books that affect skills add 1 level if you haven't trained in them or 2 levels if you have trained in them. You can sell the book afterwards and only one book works per skill.

Go over to mac.the-underdogs.info/index.php?show=games and you can find abandonware versions of some classics. I've found versions of Bard's Tale and early Might and Magic games out there.

Sorry that you have to cut and paste the link.

Close the door and save the game before you start looting. It's that simple. The game keeps track of thefts, but it doesn't penalize you yet.

I'd give the rogue a special backstab attack, but only if silent and hidden in shadows.

There really should be more differentiation in the classes, otherwise the distinction is only in the skill set that a player picks and you just have mage and warrior characters.

Haven't had any trouble up until now. Of course swapping video cards for a laptop is a pain so I'm stuck until I upgrade to an Intel based Mac. I would have waited if I thought Apple would ever go Intel.

Sometimes I think the game has a perverse sense of humor. I keep getting +2 heavy armor items in the beginning for my mage and rogue characters. For instance steel plated gloves (armor base 4) and rusty iron plate +2 (armor 6) from thug drops in the Salt Coast. I did get a studded leather jerkin +2 ...

Mac computers are meant to run for years with operating system upgrades whereas Windows computers need to be upgraded with new operating systems to cope with their inefficiencies. My system: System: Apple iBook G4 PowerPC G4 (1.2), 1.33 GHz, 14" screen, 1.25 GB DDR SDRAM, Boot ROM version 4.8.7...

The thing is that some sealed barrels have randomly placed items and are usually empty. So be prepared to repeat the process a few times to maximize return.

Right now the game is border line for my machine with distinct slowing in town and fighting swarms of monsters.

Fixing the graphics so it requires less effort for the machines would be better. I don't want to upgrade just to play games.

Spiderweb games used to do that with prices shifted from extremely cheap to utterly outrageous. This worked for buy and selling, so you had to keep track of the best places to sell valuable items. It gets to be a pain since if you are running near capacity with inventory, you just want to sell to re...

I am asking for a system that has more differentiation as a result of choosing the starting class. Right now the only real difference is whether you get more hit points or mana. The one extra skill level at the start isn't significant. Most of the older games like Might and Magic (the original first...
