To clarify: Eschalon 1.04 did save in a hidden directory. Eschalon 1.05 stores saves files in another location. When I first started Eschalon 1.05 I couldn't see any of my saves. I had to rename .eschalon_b1_saved_game to eschalon_b1_saved_game in order see my saves again.

It seems that 1.05 puts save files in a different location eschalon_b1_saved_games instead of .eschalon_b1_saved_games. In Linux this means the folder is no longer hidden. Is this a bug?

Do you have dual monitors? We cannot get Eschalon to run full-screen here on 32-bit Ubuntu with dual monitors. This is a driver-level issue that is really outside the bounds of what we can fix.

It's a single monitor (laptop). my specs:

# lspci
00:00.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Host ...

I can run lots of games (defcon, darwinia etc) fine on my laptop, but unfortunately I can't run Echalon in full screen mode. It always freezes. Here's the terminal output:

$ ./eschalon_book_1

I just want to say: thank you for the Linux cd version! The moment I noticed that there was a Linux cd version available for Eschalon: Book I I immediately purchased the game.

Nope I am quit serious. Portage has already in impressive collection of game(-demo's). Adding Eschalon would introduce more user's to this game.
