Re: Wallpapers?

I happen to like the game too and don't think I implied otherwise (duh, why else would I have finished it so fast, playing almost nonstop). I simply meant screenshots of a low res game don't cut it for a widescreen high res monitor's wallpaper, imo... Heck, screenshots of any game rarely are wallpap...

Re: Wallpapers?

Not what I had in mind when I said elegant, high resolution, and gave examples of the intro artwork rather than the tiny and busy in-game assets. But whatever floats your boat.

Re: Risen (PC)

I liked Risen but it was over a bit too quickly (after actually getting to the main plot, the whole length of it was good) without ever really growing to the Epic it hinted off at first, and the ending bits were absolutely dreadful. Now waiting for Drakensang: River of Time to be translated in Engli...

Re: Eschalon Book 3 conceptual UI (with images!)

I don't like the bottom part of the UI at all. Too much black, too many clean straight lines and stuff. And the bit popping off doesn't look good, closed or open, it should probably be in a corner instead. Maybe you could add an action bar with spell and skill shortcuts somewhere instead of that bla...

Re: 1.04 Patch?

Just revived this to say how glad I am that the new system for Book II is akin to what I was hoping for and suggested in my first comments, despite heavy resistance from other fans who I guess couldn't see the benefits. I'm also very glad you got the game up on Impulse, I bought Book II from them si...

Wallpapers?

Can we get a few nice Eschalon wallpapers please? I'd personally love something resembling the beginning of Book I, the sunset (or rise?) hill range with the trees, castle, clouds, and the knight's silhouette. Elegant stuff like that (and please make the logos small to compliment the composition, no...

Re: 1.04 Patch

Which part of what I'm asking is "a lot"? I've provided potential tried & true solutions and none of them seemed to be "a lot" for the people who pioneered or at least followed them. My examples are of indie developers just like Basilisk Games. The developers of Mount & B...

Re: Copy Protected Software

I'd just like to note that statistics of downloads cannot in any way be considered as lost sales so they should not dishearten Eschalon's team so much. We don't know how many of those downloads are from people who already have the game and just could not bother e-mailing Plimus to reactivate their d...

Re: 1.04 Patch

I never claimed you can make an uncrackable protection scheme but you keep stating the obvious, that no game is that. Either way, if someone's willing to sit and wait for some random unproven untrusted cracker group or individual to bother with this underdog that is most definitelly not a challenge ...

Re: 1.04 Patch

There's no keygen for m&b though there may be free keys or cracks for some of the older versions, it's not as easy as it is for "big" games where you could just go to a known torrent site and have the game downloading within seconds. Also, protection like this would simply be to stop t...

Re: 1.04 Patch

For the re-download stuff you could have to login first, I would think Plimus would have had such a scheme in place, make an account for you with your first purchase then let you re-login with the same information and be able to re-download all your games. But they don't, they seem to be a bit backw...

Re: 1.04 Patch

Well since this was mentioned... For Book II please provide a more robust downloading process. I'm not even able to re-download the game from the link I received in my e-mail. I'm sure we can work it out if I ever lose my backup files but it'd still be better if the file was readily available, and i...

Re: Book II Announcement?

I like it. The higher resolution really brings out the finer details of your art. Did you mess with the character scaling compared to the buildings? They seem much more fitting now, with the structures appearing larger. I still wish you could add higher resolution options, where the tiles remain of ...

Re: What type of Quests?

I didn't mind the quests in the original. Bigger and more of them, with more thought out consequences (like the quest line regarding the vaults). The mechanics can remain really, you just need some more attention paid to the writing. Perhaps you should hire someone to help with that aspect? I do thi...

Well he's just saying it would be nice if you didn't have to manually open your inventory and switch weapons. Something like diablo 2's alternate equipment tab would work a treat I think. It really is annoying to do it manually, and has no reason to happen since equip/unequip doesn't actually make y...
