I am very happy with Eschalon: Book I. I haven't had so much fun since the original Civilisation came out! Three things I would like to see are: 1. Artificer Class - with an artificer skill which allows the creation of arrows and thrown weapons, and at high level, the ability to create items out of ...

I suppose the only use of meditation then is if you wanted to put those points into the physical attributes rather then perception, and using the mana pool for buffing rather than as the primary means of combat. Meditation would then allow your small mana pool to regen between buffing castings.

Mercantile is very valuable if you don't want to use alchemy. I've found as little as 5 skill points can make a reasonable difference buying and selling equipment or consumables. I typically invest 3 points and startup and have the five points by level 3. Finding the book pumps mercantile up to 7, a...

Thanks Slarty, yeah I thought about those reasons, and decided to abandon that character. I'm also not much of a spell user, and as much as I tried, I just enjoy playing rogue type characters more :)

I've got 3 points in unarmed combat so far, and the damage is about equal with a bashing weapon without bonuses, but the "to hit" is better, probably because I've got decent attributes. One nice thing is that you don't have to worry about deteriorating your fists when bashing! I don't kno...

I'd be interested in giving this a go. What is the damage output of unarmed combat, compared to being armed with a sword or cleaving weapon? Does unarmed combat allow gauntlets to be imbued with to hit and damage bonuses?

Thanks for the update. Book I is a polished product, and I'm happy to wait until Book II is just as good, if not better!

Please keep it solo, and 30-40 hours game play. The story line, the combats, the puzzles, the traps, the tactics, the loot make it fun! I'd be happy with the same engine but with a few more graphics options and tweaking of skills. I'm happy to continue to play just humans, but I suspect that others ...

Agree, This game is just such a breath of fresh air. I love the simple and clean interface, non-restrictive classes, balanced economic system and open gameplay. I also like that the game has the option for people to play hardcore (i.e. don't restore after you die), or can use save/restore system to ...

The Rogue Path

Of all the characters I've plyed so far, the Rogue has been the most tactically interesting and fun! While the Fighter can out tank enemies, and the magicians / healers have innately powerful and flexible abilities, the Rogue can make his enemies fear the dark! Hide in Shadows has been great fun, an...

Dodge and attack types

Hi, I have been playing this wonderful game for a few weeks now I'm having great fun! I've now currently playing a Fighter with Swords, Heavy Armour and Dodge. Can someone please confirm if Dodge works against melee attacks only, or ALL attacks including missile and magical attacks? (such as fire da...
