Sound on 'load game'

Post by Pit »

Hi,

already twice so far I experienced the issue that after loading a game, sound would be stuttering, and the whole game becomes sluggish. When I quit the game, I can see that the kmix mixer program is running at 100% CPU, and I have to kill/restart it.
(Not sure if this is related: In general, when I quit the game, the sound/music continues to play for some seconds when I'm already back at the normal desktop.)

Anyone else seen something similar? I'm running openSUSE 12.3 with KDE SC 4.10.5 and pulseaudio.

I've had a similar-ish problem. Sometimes the sound goes static-y. Sometimes it'll fix itself, but usually not. Quitting the game, playing a sound with another program, and starting it again fixes it for me. This is on Ubuntu 13.10 x86_64 with pulseaudio and the FreeAudio driver.

Thanks, I'll try the play-something-else solution the next time it happens...
