Daggerfall

Post by MegaHassan »

I'm a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series ever since picking up Morrowind four years ago and then completing Oblivion two months ago. I wanted more, so I bought Daggerfall from a junk shop near our hous (!!). I use windows vista and this error kept coming up whenever I tried to play it. I tried to use DosBox to run it, but DosBox is useles, the only thing it runs is QBasic. It doesn't run Doom, or Daggerfal or anything else!!! I'm desperate to play Daggerfall but I don't know any other DOS sims to run it!!! Some help would be awesome

I can't help you with the simulation, but I can say I've always been a fan of the Elders scrolls, except for this one. I got about halfway through it, became a vampire and could never shake it. However, the worst thing was the stinkin 3-D maps. They drove me crazy! I could never figure out where I was. I finally gave up and just quit it. Never had that problem with the first one, or Morrowind, or Oblivion.

sorry, I recently traded away my copy of Daggerfall - otherwise I'd install it and see if I could help you troubleshoot on my Vista box. :(

I've been trying to find demo versions of both Daggerfall and Morrowind for a while. I did find a Daggerfall demo once and, like Hassanumer, it wasn't recognized by my DosBox, either.
Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.

I don't think you'll be able to find a demo of Morrowwind, or Oblivion. I looked for years, with no luck. Honestly, I don't know that Bethesda has released any demos :|
