Hello! When there is a book 2?? I from Russia. In the first game there was an awful transfer, likely Russian fans of game have tried to translate, but have badly tried.
I and some more person we wish to make good full transfer, in that case if you will not do him.

Dude, that's hilarious. Cool story, bro.

First of all, delays happen. BW's been pretty forthwith with causes for those delays... mainly the new features that required a lot more coding/testing than was originally forseen. Maybe you should talk to some of the people who are still waiting for the release of Duke Nukem Forever if you're so impatient.

Secondly, there's posts here in the forum that provided more than enough information, if you actually take the time to read them. There's no need to be overly rude. Even being too lazy to read and just asking for a progress report would be preferable. Being a jerk about it won't make the game release come any faster.

What more do you want? We've been told testing is going great. If Eschalon: Book II wasn't nearly ready for release, Basilisk Games wouldn't of asked for beta tester applications last month. A recent problem with Macintosh and Book I might delay the release date for a few days, but I doubt it will be weeks and months.

Nothing worth a darn on here either.

Because spending five minutes browsing the forum is hard, amirite?

Ah come on guys, give him a break. You know how much patience a pre-teen has.
As for complainer. Read the Book 1 and 2 subject areas. Lots of gems of information and comments on how long its taking. This isn't a big company with 100+ people working on things. Being patient is an art form. Practice it.

Fair point, indeed.

Anyhow . . . I'll only say to Kremz: Be patient. Good work -- and especially good art -- takes time. Deadlines kill. Look at the big-name outputs. Sure, lots of them are pretty, some of them are even very good, in general . . . but do a web-search on articles and comments on those games, and go visit their fanbase forums . . . you'll find plenty of complaints about the results of the end-production rush which tends to leave good material on the cutting-room floor, so to speak, or tends to leave parts of the game unpolished or else invite material which is not really very well thought-out. Read the comments by the writers themselves, who so often lament having had to sacrifice or change parts of their script on the altar of the Deadline.

So: please be respectful of the artists who are giving you these gifts of great games, allow them the time to perfect their work, don't hector them, and be patient . . . because most of us here would actually rather play a great game than merely a good game, and because without these artists' hard and admirable work: your own world would be a little less rich. Thanks.

Not sure where you got that image, Neebat, because the Book II page says Coming Soon! on it now. Maybe you're looking at a cached version of the page?

I think that was an update that had slipped BW's mind while he was busily trying to finish game development and get it through beta. He's been pretty good about updating stuff in various places, but if we worry about him updating every page, he'll never have time to finish the game.

Geez, people! Yes, we have slipped in our original estimate of a 2009 release. It happens- this is what game development is all about. That is why we changed it from "2009" to "Coming Soon" when we did our website update last year.

The beta testers are getting a Release Candidate tonight. That means that if they play for the next couple weeks and say that it feels balanced and stable, we can release it.

Personally, I can't think of anything that they may find which would cause a further delay. I''m sure we will be doing some balancing based on their feedback and I will continue to use this time to add details and secrets to maps all the way up until release.

We are very close!

I think Neebat was viewing the old Eschalon: Book II webpage, instead of the new Eschalon: Book II webpage. I wonder why he didn't check the front page or the rest of this forum for recent updates.

I believe you are right. I better kill those old pages and forward traffic to the new pages.
