petrified wood *possible spoiler*

Post by Bizmut »

Hi there,

I have a problem with the petrified wood for the "In the belly of the beetle" quest. I aquired it before I've gotten this quest and sold it. Also, the shop restocked before I found the quest giver (thanks to the Dragonlady, for the hint ), so I can't get it back.

I guess I'm doomed in this matter, but if someone know a way to straighten this up, I'll be more than happy :]

I'm in the same boat. You'll have to finish the game without the quest getting solved.

A similar thing happened to me with a farmer who asked me to clear out the nest. He caught me stealing from him and I had to kill him.

Almost like we need an "Abandon Quest" button on the Quests book UI...

Yea, I don't mind the xp/gold reward, I guess it won't matter that much.

But when I open the quest window, and this quest I cannot complete stares at me, I get very frustated

Yes, it is frustrating. I learned in Book 1 to keep any object I found for a certain length of time until I saw it else where. If I didn't see it within a reasonable length of time I figured I'd need it some time. Either for putting in a chest puzzle or for a quest. I held onto the nest piece for a good long time thinking it might be needed by someone furthur into the game. Turns out, it wasn't so now I sell it after showing it. I also don't rob folks who give me quests until after I'm sure I don't have to go back to them. Like the lady in West Willow, the one who wants you to check on her brother. Or if I simple must steal, I go invisible first. :D

If you happen to have a method of Charming, you don't have to kill people who see you steal. You can make them love you again.

Good call, Kreador... I usually pawn all my charm-related stuff for much needed cash...(Arrows get expensive, especially if you miss.) Maybe I'll hang on to 'em and steal for my arrows...better return-on-investment!
