Demon Oil suggestion

Post by Effidian »

With my latest run through, I realized how overpowered Demon Oil is. I think if you have no throwing skill, Demon Oil shouldn't go anywhere near where you throw it. Throwing should be a danger to yourself if you aren't skilled at Throwing. As your throwing increase, the chance it goes in the square you aim it should increase.

I concur. The same should hold true for archery/thrown weapons launched at stationary targets. With no skill you have a guaranteed chance to hit barrels and switches which doesn't make much sense at all.

I'm not sure I agree it is overpowered (it really doesn't do THAT much damage per round) but I do agree you should have some chance of missing if you have all the throwing skill of the average 2 year old.

Demon Oil is just like any other throw weapon...if you hit, you inflict explosive damage, plus fire damage. If you miss, it lands on the ground and you get just the collateral fire damage.

I've never thrown a grenade in my life (skill = 0). Anyone care to see how close I can get to you if I toss one your way? I guess with grenades and Demon Oil, close is good enough!

Ok, but I'd like to see how well you fair with a bow and some arrows hitting a stationary target. Assuming you have no archery skill, I'd be willing to bet your first attempts will be off the mark... by a lot.

Same holds true for darts. My first time throwing in a pub I hit the backboard more often than anything else. After awhile, I can even hit the bullseye now and then.
