tech question

I have been replaying Arcanum of magic and steamworks while waiting for book 3 and I have a question for you knowledgeable characters out there. Arcanum can be played in either real time or turn based and there are others like it. Why can't all games be made this way? It would certainly broaden the customer base and make us turn based gamers happy. If they can do it with Arcanum, why not all? I don't remember Arcanum being any more expensive than other games. There must be a good reason other than that most developers despise us turn based freaks.

Many big developers seem to think that Current Generation Gamers are all hyperactive morons that desire for nothing else than killing pixels with rocket launchers.

For some reason they fail to see that their games get poor reviews.
