User Manual

Post by Wyberious »

I just purchased Book II today through Steam for the Mac. I'm relatively new to the genre altogether and did not play Book I. My question is that I can't seem to locate a user manual for the game on Steam or elsewhere. I did some searching before posting here and came up empty. Am I missing something or is the manual available for download somewhere?

Also, I'd like to use a custom character image however I'm not sure where it's stored on my local machine. Any ideas on that?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

The User's Manual is in the game folder on your computer. It's called Eschalon Book II Players Manual.pdf.

Yeah, that's what I was assuming but with the Steam games, there seems to only be the application in the Applications folder. No other folders under Documents etc.

Odd, because I'm sure other Steam users have found it. You can check if Steam put it with the saved games (location can be found by clicking on the copyright notice at the bottom of the main menu), or do a search on your computer for that title (Eschalon Book II Players Manual.pdf). Worst case, you can always download the demo from this site and copy the user manual out of it. Just be sure you delete the rest so your computer doesn't get confused which one to start up.

Yeah I'm an idiot... I found it as well as an answer to the portrait issue which was of course in a post below I somehow missed.

Anyway, first few quests down and it's a great game. Thanks for you help.

Hello,

I just finished Book 1 from the App store. I downloaded Book II a few days ago, again from the MAC App store. I can't find the manual on my computer, only the application. Where can I find the manual? Does the manual not come with the application when you download it form the App store?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Not sure why the version from the Mac App Store wouldn't come with the manual, but you can always download a demo version from here on Basilisk Games' site and copy the manual out of the folder.

Note that there are errors on the "Quick Reference: Default Keyboard & Mouse actions" page. Some [F]key definitions are wrong.

I have NOT changed any key bindings (they are the original). The following are the defaults that came with the game.

[F1] Keyboard shortcut help
[F2] Quick save
[F3] Load screen
[F4] Helpful playing tips
Tecknomage
aka Master Blaster
Mage Pages
