Repair?
Is there a trainer for repair? Or maybe a skill book? I have tinker's rings, but I would like to boost repair without using precious skill points.

No repair trainer and/or book. But you can get by with a repair level of 3 in this game. Less if you don't mind getting woken up on occasion.

Moonrise Underground, just outside Moonrise, and near the Macross Point geo marker seem to be always safe. I haven't tested it enough, but the Lair of the Emayu Witch might be too.

Pick up a couple of Repair +1 rings - they're cheap and plentiful.
