Anyone play Black Geyser?

Post by Kreador Freeaxe »

Yes, I'm checking in with my old pals here at the Pub. Who else has tried out Black Geyser? I've been playing it the last few weeks and enjoying some of their mechanics and some of the different possibilities. The dusts/powders you can create and use make for some interesting additions to game play, along with the ability to sneak and plant these things on opponents. I've only just touched on a lot of the possibilities of the game, I'm sure.

It's classic CRPG style, real time with pause. What does anyone else who has played it think?

Never heard of it til now.

is it more like bg1 or 2 or eschalon?

for 30 bucks i hesitate to try it only because i loved but never finished eschalon 2 or 3 just one. Never finished any of the spiderweb games but literally own all but a few. and i never liked the baldurs gate series until 3 but damned if i dont have them all on some platform LOL

It's more like Baldur's Gate than Eschalon. GOG had it on sale last week (may still be) for something like 50% off. I admit, I had it in my library for years and never tried it until about a month ago and was really pleasantly surprised.

I may have to wait to finish this game until I get around to getting a better computer. This old iMac is not handling the area in the epic battle. I've had trouble with a few of the larger earlier zones as well. Of course, I've been thinking about getting a new machine since this old thing also won't run BG3.

Looks fun, but the sys reqs are through the roof. I need to repair my computer first or buy a new one I suppose.

Also games like these I want to be able to play on a tablet because of commuting. And I am not even certain that even if I could afford the latest microsoft surf pro, that thing could run this game. Bit of a mistake from the devs, methinks, to not take sys reqs into consideration.

Yeah, I'm at the bottom end of the specs and it shows in some of the big battle sections. But the game is pretty cool. The game has some odd bits, also, where it's hard to get a quest or to figure out how to complete it, and I think some of them can't be completed if you've gone certain places before getting the quest.
