Identification
Identification
Hi all,
I'm a pretty stupid level 9 barbarian and have a stack of equipment that is 'unknown'. Anyone know where I can get this stuff identified? Cheers

You could learn devine magic and identify these items with the lore spell.
Getting unknown items identified in the shops is way too expensive, because it costs half of the price they are worth.
If you sell them after identifiing in the shops you just get your costs back.
So you don't get rich in finding unknown items, when you can't identify them by your own.

The only other way is to build up your lore skill when you level up. Finding the ring can be tough since it usually appears later in the game and it is not cheap. IDing in the shops is the other way, but as others have stated is expensive. It does pay to idenitfy the items, otherwise you cannot use them. IDing unknown potions is easier because they can stack on like potions. Unfortunately you cannot stack weapons or armor.

Do you actually mean I can stack different unidentified potions (or scrolls)? I haven't assumed this to work and so I've never tried.
What I still can't imagine: what would happen when your inventory is full and you ID such a stack with different items?
But then I'm a new player and as yet don't know how the game handles inventory overflow.

Sounds logic. Btw, I've just got the ring of lore! Guess this will soon end my poorness.
Just for the record: found it in a treasure as an unidentified ring.
Don't remember the correct place anymore, but somewhere in the area of [Rot13 spoiler protected] Oynpxjngre.
EDIT:
@JoeSlow: Sorry, got you wrong. Just didn't read your message carefully.
Now I think what you meant was: stacking unidentified potions with known potions of the same type identify the former.

Sorry if I wrote mistakable, I'm no native speaker. Sometimes I have problems to express myself clearly.
