Just wanted to say that I'm excited for the game to come out. It's going to be fun to play.

Also, I was wondering, will your character from the first game transfer to the next two games? That'd be sweet. It'd be okay if you had to make a new character for each, but to just be able to carry over would be revolutionary.

We are planning on allowing Character transfer into Book II, but we can't make any promises until we start on the next game.

I could see character transfers work if you do not make a lot of sweeping changes. However if you were to change the spell system or general skills you may want to rethink that. I think an interesting way to handle the "books" would be to doa shanara type thing(its a book if not familiar) and have generations of heroes...ie the player in book 1 is the father/grandfather of the one of the players in book 2....which would also allow you to age the world giving you alot of options to revisit places in book 1....that would actually be quite cool.

Are you going to make a final countdown to the game release or it will be a surprise from "the night to day"?

Any prevision?

Hi Zizaco,

We will probably have a "mini-countdown" as soon as we are 100% sure of the release date. The problem with that will be coordinating with download portals (i.e. FilePlanet and others) to get the demo posted simultaneously.

Yes, as soon as the final beta is approved we'll ship several copies of the game off to some game sites to have them write up some previews on it.

Probably someone have asked this but...

How much time you take to develop the game engine? and how long to make the game itself?

Im an brazilian indie game developer and your fan :D

The game has been in development since early 2005, though some engine testing was done back in 2004.

The game and the engine are closely related, so although we've said that we are done with coding and just generating content now, we still go back in quite frequently to tweak the engine to allow us to do new things.

Will the game be available in physical form, like a CD, or only electronically?

I wouldn't mind downloading the game --I have a decent connection-- as long as it can be backed up to hard media.

Both.

It will be available for electronic delivery (download) and probably weigh in somewhere around 100mb, give or take a few. It will download as a single installation file which you can back-up onto CD if you want.

If you want an official CD version, it will be a few dollars more (to cover duplication, shipping and handling expenses) and you can still do an immediate download. The CDs themselves will be ready to ship probably about 3-4 weeks after the game is officially gold.

Just a quick question are you going to have items that you find that could start a quest? Could make some interesting "specail quests".

Man I'm dieing to try this:P

Yes- there are a couple quests that I can think of (off the top of my head) that are triggered when you find a certain object.

Will you be able to create a female character, or are you forced into shoes of some premade male protagonist like in some of the worse Ultima games and PS:T?
