Is it possible the cartography skill is causing a problem? I'm thinking that maybe if your skill increases and the map is drawn differently, it causes an error? Just a thought.

No, I don't think so. We've had extremely few reports of file corruption when the game is saved. You say you have to wait a bit after a save or the system will crash? Again, it may be something to do with disk compression on your system, faulty hardware, or poopy drivers. Check for driver updates and possibly run some diagnostic software to see if you can pinpoint any hardware faults.

Yeah, I think I'm due for some driver updates and some defragging. Anybody have a link that scans your PC and looks for updates? I know there are some out there.

Ok, I updated all the drivers and did a defrag. Now my character looks like he's walking through mud half the time. Any ideas why he's moving so lowly?

Have you tried switching to OpenGL or 16-bit color from the launch window? There is another post here from just a couple days ago where someone had a noted increase in game speed by switching from DirectX to OpenGL.

I can try that, but I did not have this problem before I did the driver update and defrag. Would a new install be worth a try as well?

No, a re-install wouldn't change anything. Try my other suggestion about OpenGL/16-bit color first and let me know how it performs.

I'll trying leaving 32bit setting, since the fog in some areas turn pink when I have gravediggers flame on.

You were right (my apologies for assuming your computer might be the problem). The map file is corrupt. Go into that saved slot and delete these files:

ug_reposit.ent
ug_reposit.map
ug_reposit.opq

and then load the game and enter the repository. Should work fine.

Thanks to the map Project viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1587 I have managed to figure out which is blackwater, hopefully this will fix my problem.

I have this same problem. Game crashes when I'm trying to go to Lilith from Grimmhold West. (With amulet and that large bee killed. At first it worked properly but when I tried to return it started to crash just before I enter to the one map norther from Grimmhold West map)

EDIT: It's central Tangletree forest, and I'm trying to go north from there

Delete these files:
24.ent
24.map
24.opq

yeah it crashes when i try to enter that the map where lilith's house is located. I'm entering there from south.
It works if I travel there from north(bordertown).
Game keeps crashing even after i deleted those files. (24.map; 24.opq; 24.ent)..

I'll need a copy of your saved game. ZIP up just the slot in question and email it to me.
