Don't your screen and computer let you alter the gamma and/or brightness settings on their own?

Very cool. I think I'd probably keep mine at 50% or lower, because I really did like the wandering in the dark stuff. It really added to the interest and danger of underground areas to me. The dungeon with the brightness boosted will have less contrasting difference between light and dark areas, thus changing the overall "spooky atmosphere" in my opinion. But, hopefully people who use dimly-lit screens will find Book II more enjoyable than Book I. Actually, I tend to run Book II at about 50% boosted brightness when I play on the Mac Book Pro.
