1) How can I separate items? For example, take one of my 6 potions that lie in the same inventory cell.
2) *Spoler alert  * I have a quest about Father Michael from Aridell, I agreeded to bring a letter to the Captain in Darkford. But he's drunk and doesn't seem to take me seriously. Is that alright, or is there another way to obtain justice? Maybe I should give the letter to someone else?
Captain Morgan will never take you seriously. Just don't forget to search around while you're in Darkford. The key to your future may be there. ;-)

No, I don't have the letter in my inventory and the quest is completed. I just thought it was kinda wrong that Captain behaves that way and that maybe there is another way of solving the quest...

Thank you guys :)

Even though he "doesn't take you seriously," the fact that you delivered the letter to him should count as fulfilling the quest. You then can accept his pretty much blowing you off or you can pick a fight to show your displeasure.

Hello again!
I still haven't completed Book I and after more than 20 hours of gameplay I still have some problems with monsters. I'm playing as Magick User but I'm not sure if I'm leveling up properly (choosing right skills and stats). When I encounter some stronger monsters (e.g. velociraptors) I just don't have enough mana to fight them and have to run away, regenerate mana and then come back.
If there is someone with experience of playing as Magick User, could you comment what I'm doing wrong (or is my character completely screwed up)?
Here's a screenshot with my stats and such.

PS: I tried to use books and teachers as much as possible.
Your help is much appreciated!

A couple of comments. First, there really isn't any glaring weakness that I can see in your skill set. However, since you are not a warrior who attacks the enemy head-on, you would find life much easier if you increased Hide in Shadows.

Second, the velociraptors are really, really tough customers. They were my biggest challenge the first time I played Book I. The best way for you to get through their main map is to be able to Hide in Shadows. Then you can use Predator Sight and Bless before you run like mad down the path.

Also, once you get to Blackwater all sorts of fun quests and purchases become available - and you can level up fairly quickly. So, you should know that there are three ways in total to get to Blackwater....

Playing as a Magick User is very challenging in Book I. Your MP regeneration is capped at one per step, and there's no forage skill to help keep you stocked on potions. Do be sure to pump Perception until you hit the cap - I don't remember if 30 is enough in Book I. Also, stock up on potions of Fortify Mana. You could consider getting enough Alchemy to make them yourself, but buying the ingredients is probably just as expensive as buying them outright.

Finally, there are a couple of wells in the game that restore your MP, but they're far from where you're likely to need them. If only there were some spell that could transport you quickly from one place to another...

I completed Book I as a magick user. Never even had to bother with raptors. Spoiler!-> I nicked Omar's key when he didn't notice!

Fighting the velociraptors and certain other late-game enemies is easiest if you use the right spells and good tactics. Compress atmosphere is one of the best spells, and if you move around so the terrain forces more than one raptor together, it allows you to damage them in groups. Also, as with archers, using stuff like demon oil to control their movement and keep them from reaching you allows you more time to attack and then run if necessary.

First off, thank you all for valuable advices!

I tried to find a well that restores mana, but can't remember where are all the wells I've seen. Does anyone remember where to find one?
PS: I also tried to find a list or a map of wells on the Internet but it seems there isn't much information about the game :(

I don't remember if there was one that restored mana. Maybe the one at Blackwater East entrance?

That's because other than us here, most people are completely deprived as they haven't tried this game.

I suspect that the well you are thinking of is the one in Elderhollow. It's next to the abandoned inn. It restores Hit Points when you drink from it, but not Mana Points.

The well near the inn in Blackwater restores both Mana and Health. The one in Elderhollow only restores hit points, as Painted Lady noted.

There used to be a map made by Iane using xolotl's editor, but it no longer works for some reason.
