I'm not sure how you've been able to surmise that, as Quicktravel points aren't shown in any of the Book III screenshots.
I was going by the "Rockhammer has been added to the Quick-Travel menu" message on the second screenshot.

I assumed they were decorative. If they're functional, I hope they get a little bit bigger in the final version or they'll be a pain to click on.
IJBall wrote: Maybe Guiding Light spell isn't a "replacement" for the Gravedigger's Flame spell, but is instead the Healer-equivalent spell to the Mage's Gravedigger's Flame spell.
Interesting. That would be a pretty major departure in terms of Divine/Elemental spell roles. Thus far, the only "duplicate" spells in both schools have been the ones that do damage. Plus, pure caster types don't really need a light spell, because they can hold torches. Archers need a light spell the most, but they can just as easily pick up a couple of ranks in Elemental as in Divine.
Painted Lady wrote: I think I know what it is. Do you remember that in the southeast corner of the Talushorn map there are a couple of "plate receivers" or some such thing outside the fortress? There is also one southwest of Sparrow's house. I always figured that they were communication devices from "The One" to his subjects. Anyway, I think your screen shot blow-up shows the same device. As Dragonlady would say "kewl."
Hm, I don't remember those. I'll have to wait until I get home to check it out.

I was thinking these might be scroll bars for the Quick Travel menu. Maybe there are more places to visit than will fit in that area.

Hmmmm... I wonder if CrazyBernie is still doing text/story work for BW in Book III, or if CB's too busy with the new baby to help out this time...

Great catch! I totally missed that when looking at the screenies the first couple of times... ;)

In the Book III 'wishlist', I made a request for Healers to get their 'Poison' spell back, after it was taken from the class post-Book I and given to (Elemental) Mages in Book II. Maybe that got BW to thinking that some (types of) spells should be common to both Healers and Mages...

I had a busy Thanksgiving and didn't check in until yesterday, so I just want to add my "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" to the chorus. :) There are some really cool looking things for us to ponder in those shots. And 13 has always been a lucky number for me. I'm really, really looking forward to 2013 now.

Well, I was spending Thanksgiving with my girlfriend, and we hadn't seen each other in a while. I'd say more, but this is a family friendly board. ;-)

Besides, as the real party will be Summer 2013, I'm not too late. I am drooling a bit, though.

I suspect we'll get another release of Book III news around New Year's (e.g. the "features" list), so I suspect last Monday was just the first Book III "party" we'll get among several.

In other words, KF will get other chances! ;)

Also, I'm sure BW will start giving interviews for Book III in the Spring, so hopefully we'll get some new screenshots along with those interviews... :)

Do you remember when BW posted those cool pictures of the Book II monsters as teasers? I know we are a ways away from being teased, but I personally cannot wait.

I'm here to revive this topic for the new screenshot.

Someone is not very good at sailing...
I really like the pattern behind the health and exp, etc. I know this was in previous pictures, but I didn't notice it until now. That, along with the name of the region you're currently in (As IJBall asked for) are subtle, but unique touches.

Thank you BW!

Indeed! Should be interesting if you can go explore inside the shipwreck...
