I have to agree. I would really like to see this idea go somewhere.
Until now, I had not thought about this, but my brother has promised me a free Minecraft Server for Christmas, just this last year (2012). He has not yet set it up, but I would be willing to donate that server to be the BasiliskGames server.

It wouldn't have too many slots, but it doesn't look like that will be too big of a problem.
So, just out of curiosity, what mods/mod packs, if any would you guys like to see on this server? I personally like to stick with Vanilla, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Oh, and obviously BW, do I have your permission to call my server the 'Basilisk Games' server?

Im a vanilla player as well. Mods, unless made easy to install, can be a pain.

Alright, I'm going to be setting up the server right now, for now I'll just call it Vroqren's Server. Later, if I get permission from BW, I will Whitelist it, and rename it to Basilisk Games or something of the sort. If you'd like to play on it, PM me with your minecraft Username and I'll see what I can do.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be home most of the day tomorrow, so not much will happen tomorrow.

I play vanilla and Tekkit, but I think we should stick with vanilla.

I am okay with Vroqren setting up a server.

I can advertise it if you want, though this might make for a heavy traffic load.

Thank you very much BW. Honestly though, I'd rather we didn't advertise it. It's only a twelve slot, 512mb server, and being so I'm whitelisting it. I think it's fine to just keep it to the members of this forum.

Anyways, I've built a tiny shack, and managed to already die.
I'll probably go into creative mode just for a little bit to make the spawn look nice. Other than that though, I think we can all agree on Survival Vanilla. I've also set the server difficulty to Normal. Let me know if you'd like that changed.

Vroqren, I shall dedicate a grand monument for you, the hero and savior of this project. Also normal is fine. (Though I am very afraid of going underground with mobs on. )

Edit: I hope you don't mind if I build my first something near you (I haven't been on the server yet).

Can you please turn the difficulty to Peaceful. I nearly had a heart attack when a spider clipped through the roof on my second night, defending your shack.

Server Progress Report - 00

Okay, first time on the server. Nice morning. Got some wood and made tools. Saw a zombie under a tree. Ate some rotten flesh.

I found your shack, Vroqren. I built my first house next to it, but ran out of time when night fell. I died protecting my new home.

Spawned in a dark forest. Climbed up a tree and made me a sword. Fought a spider that attacked me.

Morning. Ran back to your shack. Made home in your cellar. Dug down to the chasm. Night came again. A zombie entered your shack, fought it. Lag caused a spider to clip through the ceiling. Screamed like a little girl.

Turned off mob spawning, 'cause I was too afraid. When you get back on the server, do turn it on again.

My home (in your cellar) is now a chest, a crafting table and two furnaces. When I have enough items, I will make myself a real house.

I popped in briefly this morning. Popped over to your shack, Vrogen, and put a sign there - nice looking server so far. Haven't seen birch or oak trees before...
