Maybe it's just me, but I had enough gold to get 10 ranks in two skills (from untrained all the way up to 10) by that time. But then again, I do scrounge, steal, skimp, and save like a real tightwad. I also put 10 ranks into Mercantile, and kept that Dealer's Hat with me always.IJBall wrote:(For example, it'd be nice if characters could get their hands on enough loot to buy, say, 5 Levels in any one Skill (e.g. Alchemy) by the time they first get to Port Kuudad, and I'm not sure that's the case right now...)
More money or More quests needed

As I play along, what I'm starting to see is that how much gold you end up with depends on whether you stick to the main quest-line, and thus just stick to the primary villages and Port K., or whether you go off exploring. (Having a high Mercantile skill would be an important secondary factor in wealth creation...)Oshkell wrote:Maybe it's just me, but I had enough gold to get 10 ranks in two skills (from untrained all the way up to 10) by that time. Going off exploring takes much longer, but ends up netting you a fair amount of "extra" loot. Of course, the thing about exploring with a low-level character is that it's pretty dangerous, and will take even longer (as it'll probably involve just taking 1 or 2 mobs on at a time before needing to 'camp' and rest) - it's a whole different ballgame when you go off exploring with a character with 32 Levels in Bows: then it's more of a 'cakewalk'!
Anyway, I think there is enough 'loot' in the "whole" game in all probability.
I'm just not sure if there's "enough" loot if you stick to just areas around the main towns and approach the game and its quests in a more linear fashion - if you play this way, I'm pretty sure you won't have enough gold to do much once you get to Port K. the first time...
