I definitely want the option to play a one-boobed chick. There needs to be an axiom called "Amazon Stereotype," where it gives you 1337 sword skillz. And I'd take screenshots of her saying, "Lolpwnd" while running over catacomb rats in her invisible plane. Not flying in it, but rolling on the ground with it at a high rate of speed.
No, seriously though? I love your suggestion about arrows. I think I might had echoed what you said, in one of CrazyB's polls.
I would also DEFINITELY love to be able to imbue non-armor clothing, especially considering that neat lil achievement that you can get for going through it all unarmored.
On the topic of no longer having to eat and drink, what about if instead of really damaging your HP, it drains attributes? For instance, if it drained your Strength and Endurance, instead of Hit Points, you might theoretically be able to die from temporary attribute drain if they get low enough. Also stopping or slowing HP/MP regeneration while hungry/thirsty would be believable.
I think starting with stats at 12 is, um... a bit much, for not having to roll. 14 is the max you can get during a roll, after all. If the equation is (attribute = 6 + 1d8) and the average die roll on an eight sided die is 4, I'd think 10's across the board might be more appropriate. I would suggest the implementation of a point-buy-only system, but they kinda sorta have that already, and I really like how it works. I really appreciate the throwback to AD&D (or so I interpret) where you *rolled* for your stats, in order, and you *liked* it. Besides. The sound of rolling dice makes me happy, deep inside.
House quicktravel = win. Great suggestion. How about also being able to purchase houses in other towns, and add them to your travel menu? Those vacant buildings that are allegedly 'for sale' in Port Kuudad could be put to good use. Of course, with the purchase of a house should come the option to furnish it... so, um... maybe you should also be able to pick up chests somehow? Lol... and you'd need beds, and dressers... this could add a whole new take to stealing from people's houses. XD (Hey, that strange dude in my house just picked up my bed and walked off! Wtf??) And of course it would also help you out for the purposes of obtaining a citizen's writ through purely legitimate means... for all you so-called Virtuous people that steal them out of houses and off of corpses.
Explosive barrels... goodness yes. You must have read my mind.
While I love a good joke, I'd hate to wonder if the reason Eschalon Book III didn't have that neat feature or quest I wanted was because the developers were too busy writing funny stories. Maybe I'm just sadistic, but I kinda thought some of the skillbooks were pretty funny. (Read "The Fly's Defense" and the book that gives you ranks in Skulduggery... I forget its name. Something about a book that tries to kill you with a poisoned needle just makes me chuckle.)
I really love the idea about sleeping when tired. Maybe if there was a fatigue bar, which could only be relieved by resting (or perhaps through certain spells or foods?) could solve the problem. As long as I'm thinking about it, it might be neat if you accumulated fatigue from heavy fighting, and using equipment with which you are not proficient, in addition to keeping long hours.
Traps? I love traps, and I'd love being able to set them. Maybe if you had a high enough Skulduggery you could make them while resting, too? Perhaps even better than that, maybe you could make them through the alchemy interface, except that your S-dug skill would come into play for purposes of determining success and quality. Perhaps in Book III, it would simply become known as the "crafting interface," instead of just being there for Alchemy. I could see this idea working for making ones own armor and weapons, for instance. Being in the proximity of a stationary feature such as a forge, alchemy lab, etc. should also give one a bonus to their skill.
The food bag idea might be nice... but I personally just really like looking at my little clumps of rat meat, and meaty spider legs, and saying, "hmm, I wish I hadn't sold that bag of exotic spices, gosh darn it." Going back to the "crafting interface," I also want to be able to cook food. As it stands, I get the impression that my character taking a handful of raw rat meat, and going, "nom!" and chomping it down... which is kinda gross. How about taking meat + spice + [?] (like a sauce, fruit, or second spice?), and being able to combine the three ingredients to make a meal that is more satisfying than its component parts? I'd feel much better if my ratsies were basted in gravy and garnished with parsley, thank you.
I also want more axioms. But I started a thread somewhere else on the matter, so I'll leave it at that.
