Didn't see this one posted, but it sounds interesting: http://www.instantkingdom.com/driftmoon/

And with an editor too, interesting!

Ive owned driftmoon since alpha. Pretty fun, solid game for sure.

And they just released the final version actually. I havent played it in a while, but when i do its always fun. Now that its finished, ill probably play it again since i want to see where the story goes for sure!

I've owned Driftmoon for a while too - glad to see it is finally completed - I left off where the beta ended so now I can finally finish it :)

Looked interesting but it doesn't seem to be available for Macs. :(

It is great! I have almost finished my first run through and enjoyed every minute of it. Well worth the $11.99 and I haven't even tried any of the mods yet which come with the game. And all updates are automatic and free.

Aren't you also a Mac player, Painted Lady? Driftmoon is sadly Windows only.

Sword of the Stars - The Pit

Turn-based RPG based on the Sword of the Stars series. Might be worth checking out - I like it :)

I hate real time games but loved Driftmoon. It is pausable and you can save anytime. While paused in combat you can give orders so the difference is small. I just finished the game and even managed to defeat the final Boss. You can't know how unusual that is for me. It wasn't that easy but I did it and have the great feeling of actually finishing a game. I played Diable 2 right up to the final chapter and discovered that I had no chance at all of winning. I would have to go back and fight thousands of monsters to gain the levels needed to be able to win the last battle. Too boring and discouraging-tossed the game in the trash. Too bad you only have a Mac. I think you would enjoy this little gem.

Actually I also have a Windows system that I pull out when I'm desperate.

I, too, can play some Windows stuff. Have my Mac partioned (is that the word?) but I hate having to do a click fest to get to it.

Partitioned. :) I was going to do that, or use Parallels, but never did. My brother who works at Microsoft even kindly sent me Windows once. :)

I'm definitely going to do it on the next Mac system I get - I think all modern Macs have Boot Camp pre-installed(?). So it's just a question of partitioning the hard drive, and getting a hold of a version of Windows...

(...though which version of Windows to get, for maximum game playability/compatability, was always what I was unsure of - Is Windows 7 the best choice here?... :?: )
