Hmmm, probably some unnamed text adventure on a valve-based mainframe, back in the 60s.
But on a computer I owned, probably Lords of Midnight, then the Ultima series (played Akalabeth after those), then the Gold Box games Pool of Radiance and Champions of Krynn, and another SSI title, Demon`s Winter.
Boy, have I kept Origin and SSI in funds over the years!
What was the first RPG you ever played?

Also very early on: The Valley - Commodore PET (3 of us managed to port it roughly to the C-64), and how could I have forgotten Twin Kingdom Valley?

I'm pretty sure it was Crystals of Arborea on PC. Not a classic by any means but a good starting point for a young inexperienced player.
Following that up with Bards Tale II was... tough!

Ultima V sitting on my dads lap on our Tandy 1000!
I was digging through the basement looking for that old Tandy and my dad said he sold it at a garage sale two years ago! Can you believe it?!?!
Who would want to buy it anyways?
Some guy saw it and said to himself "Oh sweet a Tandy 1000 now I can play Sentinal Worlds: Future Magic and Star Flight and they won't have to be emulated!"
I would have bought it!

I can't actually remember what my first game was called but I remember my second one and that was Lands of Lore. I loved that game even if it scared the shit out of me, especially in the dark caves.

My first RPG experience was "Dragon Warrior" on the NES (Originally "Dragon Quest" in Japan... some of you might have heard of this series
). It wasn't love at first sight but, the game style grew on me and after a while I was hooked! After that it was Dragon Warrior II, Final Fantasy (the original) and then my interests diverged to pen and paper and PC RPG's. In particular, the Ultima series and D&D. It's now easily my favourite video game genre.
