Alright, the server is updated to 1.5 Sorry for the 20 or so hours that we were down, but we are back up now!

I would like to make some fireworks. That will require gunpowder. Should I spawn in some creepers (since we are not playing on peaceful but with mob spawns off) and kill them or should I go for the lazy route (cheating)?

Hmm. I can change the game mode, but the problem with that is that changing it every time anyone wants a mob drop, would be tedious. I'm just going to change the server to easy for now. So, if anyone has problems with that, just let me know.

EDIT: Wow, fail on my part. Servers already on normal, but mobs are off. There is a command for mob spawning, /gamerule domobspawning true/false.
Go ahead and turn it on, I'd rather have that than just cheating the gunpowder in.

Yeah. Mob griefing is off though, so zombies won't break down doors, creepers won't damage terrain, ETC. They can still attack you though.

Cool - I made some iron armor anyways, an I typically carry a sword to kill animals as needed - so I'm good. Walls are up - though they aren't pretty

Oh no, now I can't go underground anymore.

Vrogen, I flattened out that entire area for the castle base (Lord_P we're gonna build a castle) and tried to have 2 layers of ground underneath it. We have some caverns and water underneath, so we'll need to be careful when digging.

Castle, you say? What kind of castle? I could contribute some stone and cobble if you need, or help in the construction.

Yeah: The idea was that we could all work on it together, regardless of who is currently on. Unfortunately, we don't know what block to use yet...

Perhaps we could use the Moss Stone I got from dismantling that jungle temple for either a wall around the potential moat, or on the upper towers.

Well, after gathering 26 levels, 12 stacks of coal, 2 stacks of iron, and 16 diamonds, I found a double Cave Spider Spawner (don't break these if you come across it, I want to make a farm out of it). After spending an hour carefully making sure every entrance was blocked off, and protecting myself, they got out, and killed me. By the time I had gotten back, everything had despawned. I'm going to stay outdoors for a while...

ugh yeah those guys are tricky, and can sneak through small spaces...that's a horrible turn of events though. was it the ravine you found last night before i logged?
