Hi

Did anyone find anything to do with the golden demon statue? I have touched it three times in a raw (removing the curse and killing the goblins each time) but nothing happened so far.

Did I miss something?

Any clues to share?

I puzzled over that too. I don't have an answer but I do have two ideas:

1) Maybe you need to be of the "nefarious" axiom? When you click the demon statue it complains that you are an infidel, suggesting it's alignment-based...

2) Maybe if you click it after you've chosen to betray the rightful owner of the Crux...

Like I said, I was puzzled by that too and those are just two ideas to test; I don't have any reason to think either would work. It might just be a curse-and-goblin-generator.

When i touched it, it zapped me and complained i didnt have enough wisdom.
But i'm nefarious alignment so.

If you have enough wisdom you can avoid becoming cursed (which typically roots you to the spot, since your Str and carrying capacity both drop). It doesn't stop the monsters appearing. I never did find anything that the statue did apart from cause trouble, although I guess you can use it to 'farm' experience points (but there are easier ways).

My impression, after touching it twice and avoiding the curse the first time, was that it was something that would be wise not to keep on touching.

Hmmm. Puzzled over that too. Did u guys noticed there's a Sacraficial Dagger in a chest behind satue?
I tried killing goblins with it in tiles close to statue - no effect.
Tried using Incinerating potion on it - no effect
Boosted INT and WIS to 20 still cant decode writings....
Even tried to roleplay a "priest" got undressed and killed goblins with dagger right in front of statue! No effect ...

Hey, how about using the sacrificial dagger and striking the statue with it, ah lah 'hitting barrels'???

I just discovered that the incinerator fuel seems to damage the statue - at least, if I throw it at the statue and wait, I get messages saying "Object condition x%," where the value of x decreases as I wait. I haven't been able to get it lower than about 10%, though, so I can't be sure that it's the statue, but I can't see what else it could be. Perhaps someone with higher stats than mine could crack it? The effect of the incinerator fuel seems mostly boosted by +to hit and +damage stats and, of course, make sure you don't incur the thrown weapons penalty.

But of course I tried to hit that Deamon with dagger! Guess what? Nada..

Got confused in same way for the first time i throwed oil.
Tried out new ideas:
Embuied dagger to +3 dmg and hit.
Summoned helluvalot goblins repetedly clicking on staute:
Killed 27 with dagger hothing happened - got mad killed other 30 with supernova! Now that was pure gekatomb massacre wich had to bring joy to any selfrespecting deamon! Still no luck...
Maybe there is some answer in some books... Or in higher wis and int then mine... You guys be creative! Lets solve that puzzle! I hope it's solveble
Oh did i mentioned I killed Chancellor and all guards with that dagger?

Well, once you're far along and the game and have killed all the enemies in the game, the only ways you can come up with more enemies to kill are by being ambushed while resting and by touching the golden statue.

If you're ambushed while resting,it's always by Tauraxes and you never get any drops from them. So the goblins that appear when you touch the statue are your only source of drops - quite prolific, too.

once you kill all the goblins when you touch the statue and you touch it again is there more goblins.
