Crius Vindica & Target Practice?

OK, so I'm in the Crius Vindica lair and if you go all the way to the west, there is a room with a barrel of flight arrows and a target. When you shoot at the target, it shows you where your arrows land. In Book 3, there is a place where, if you hit x number of bullseyes, you get a secret something... (trying to avoid spoilers). Does *this* target in Book 2 yield and secret somethings, or is it just a red herring?
