Inventory Gold Icon is Sulfur with No Number

I ran into a problem where the gold in my inventory lost its icon and the number representing the amount of gold. Instead, I just see a sulfur icon. I still can't pick up the item in that slot, or anything, and the game seems to firmly believe that I still have gold, but I have no way of knowing how much. It seems to have happened when I allowed my inventory to fill all of the way up.
