How is this game different from the Avernums (I was going to ask how the game was different from Age of Decedance, but since that game isn't out yet, I didn't think it would be fair question)?

We've been asked that before and the simple answer is that it's different in almost every way. It may look similar, but we're not using the Avernum engine (we made this engine ourselves). The RPG ruleset is also ours, originally design to be a pen-and-paper system. Also, Book I is about a single, solo character. Book II will be party based.

Do the characters have animations when they move (or in general for that matter) or is it similar to the Avernums/Might and Magic 3 tile movement?

Or asked another way. Does time go by when you're just standing still or do you actually have to move to change the clock?
