The Drunken Lizard Pub

I believe I've searched every inch of the salted coast but I didn't see a shipwreck or find any bandits or anything carrying the sextant for the drunk garrett. Where am I supposed to find it?

Did you search the busted house nearly due south of Aridell?

Ahh I see. I had searched it but at the point of the game I did it at I couldn't open locked chests yet.

Did you have a ... Hammer or a sword or an axe and use the shift click and bash the heck out of it?
There is oppertunities for the use of brute strength with a good club.

I couldn't use hammers or axes at that point and I didn't want to break my sword or do something lame like quicksave and keep bashing it till it opened.

Just because you don't have the "skill" does not mean you can not use an item. I start out limiting myself to sword and bow skills however I carry an axe or hammer to break chests and barrels - sometimes you break the hammer or axe but you will break a barrel or chest or even a door down with enough "unskilled" labor and a tool or two.
