I think it would be a great idea? to sell them at a package price togheter ?? since there is no more book 1 packages and some people still want it with package!

I also like this idea. Didn't find out about Eschalon in time to get the game on disk, and plan on buying Eschalon II...a set would be great!

Actually I'd like to see "Wishing on a Basilisk Star" A Limited Signed and Numbered collectors Edition Box set of Book 1,2,3 with manuals Cloth maps and other goodies OH! I'm not Joking either

I just wanted to say that if Basilisk releases a "special edition", or a "collectors edition" or anything like that, I'm totally up for buying it. Seriously, I haven't played a RPG this awesome in quite some time, so it's more than worth the hundred bucks or whatever for a collector's edition.

Besides, I got on the bandwagon rather late, so I don't own a physical copy of the game

I just wanted to cast my vote for a combined release of games 1 and 2 or a reprint of the game 1 CD/DVD with case and manual. Some of us still prefer having those hard copies.

The Book II CD will only contain Book II, but it will most likely have all three versions (PC/Mac/Linux) on the disc.

When we are ready to release Book III, we will offer that as a digital download or a normal CD, but we will also offer a very limited edition box set with re-pressed CDs of Book I, II, and III (3 separate discs, not just all the games crammed on one DVD, and each disc containing all 3 versions of the game), a cloth map of Eschalon, a printed manual and other swag. It probably won't be cheap, but it will be an item that no true fan will want to be buried without.

Yes! I love the cloth maps and other goodies in the boxes! I would glady pay more for games that included that stuff.

I think all games should be sold to run off the "major" OS. Why should I have to buy a new copy, if I decide to switch from a PC to a Mac or Linux (or vise-versa)?

So will there be a discount for those who have bought one or more of the games already? Or is my only chance of getting a hard copy of Game 1 (without paying for it twice) is to wait till 2010?

Well, you can certainly burn the installation file to a CD if you wish.

The problem is, while there are a few of you who want a CD, there is not enough of you out there to justify the minimum 500 CDs that we have to run each time (and I don't want 480 leftover CDs sitting around the studio for the next 2-3 years until we put them into the Book III Collector's Edition box set).

One other option that we are looking into is getting a low-volume CD duplication machine for the studio. It can burn four-discs at a time from the master and print the disc's top-image right to the surface of the disc. It is more expensive per-unit than having a large company handle it, but it would work fine for when CD orders have gone down to just 3-4 per month.

We will certainly let everyone know if more CDs become available, and there will be a discount option for people who have already paid for the download version.

Thanks for the quick response. It seems I was mistaken in believing that the hard copy included a printed manual. I found this post which doesn't show any manual. That being the case, is the case cover image in the download or could it be put up for download? And maybe the image used on the CD?

I worked for a company that had one of those... they're pretty neat. In they end they were just burned discs with a label printed on them (as opposed to pressed discs), but they definitely got the job done. It's a pretty big chunk o' change to drop up front, but I imagine with the smashing success your games are going to have it'll pay for itself in no time! Knowing me, I'll end up buying two copies of Book II; one at the initial release price, and one when the price drops after I end up losing the disc. >.<
