Can someone please explain how to use the portal spell properly?

Oh, and an Admin might want to review an old post by Vesdaris which is here. I think his "stats" pics might be "exagerated"

Found this whilst doing a search on how portals worked!

Well, I only used portal level 1, and basically, you cast it where you want to get back to. THen later, you cast it again and you will have the option to go back to your old portal or make a new one.

So I created an anchor in Blackwater (at level 1 casting), now I am outside what I think is the Goblin haven and want to create a "jump point" there so I can get back between the 2 places but it doesn't seem to work how I expect it to, so I'm missing something!

Basically what Gegorty said...

There are 6 levels to the Portal spell, and each level can be a separate anchor point (hence, the more anchors you set, the more skilled you must be tyo use them).

Cast level 1 Portal wherever you want to set the anchor....then cast level 1 Portal again and you will be given the choice to set a new anchor or return to the previously set anchor.

Repeat for the other 5 levels of "Portal" for 5 more anchor points.

erm....

OK, is this right...

I set a level 1 anchor point in Blackwater, so if I cast at l1 then I will alwys end up in Blackwater. If I now set a level 2 anchor somewhere else then that will transport me there from anywhere on the map and the casting level (from where I am) will determine where I end up?

OK, no reply needed, I've sussed it now !!!

Going to complete this last bit now then start over again with all I *think* I've learned ( will be the 3/4 restart).
